Private Dance Classes
in London

There are two common set-ups, and the right one depends on what you are practising. The studio listings below show which each venue mentions.

• Complete beginners who want to build confidence before joining a group class.
• Couples preparing a wedding first dance or learning ballroom, salsa or tango together.
• Improvers stuck on one technique, such as turns, partner connection or musicality.
• Performers and exam candidates who need feedback on a specific piece or syllabus.
• Anyone with a tight schedule, since sessions can be fitted around work rather than a fixed timetable.

If you would rather learn with others, our guide to adult dance classes in London covers group formats, and the workshops page lists one-off sessions.

Almost any style can be taught privately, but demand clusters around a few. Each style page lists studios in London and explains what to expect:

• Ballet and contemporary, for technique, exams and auditions.
• Salsa, bachata and kizomba, for lead-and-follow and social confidence.
• Ballroom and Argentine tango, for couples and competition.
• Hip hop, heels and commercial, for choreography and performance.
