Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This Privacy Policy explains how DanceStudioLondon.com ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use this website — including when you send a studio a message through "Contact This Studio", submit a commercial enquiry, or browse the site.

1. Who We Are

Dance Studio London is an independent, privately-operated directory of dance studios and academies in London, operated by Antonio Ariza Alba, an independent web developer. We are not a dance school ourselves, and we do not represent, act on behalf of, or speak for any of the studios listed on this site. For any privacy-related enquiries, or to exercise any of the rights below, contact offers@dancestudiolondon.com.

2. What Data We Collect

When you use "Contact This Studio" on a studio's listing page, we collect: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the dance style you're interested in (optional), whether the enquiry is for a child or an adult (we do not ask for a child's name), preferred days (optional), your message, and — if you tell us you're enquiring on behalf of a company — the company name.

When you use the general commercial contact form (e.g. a business enquiry), we collect your name, email address, and any message you choose to include.

In both cases we also log your IP address and submission time, used only for spam prevention and security, and retained for a maximum of 30 days.

3. How We Use Your Data

Studio enquiry data is used solely to:

  • Let us review your enquiry and manually forward it to the specific studio you contacted
  • Keep a record of enquiries so we can follow up if needed and measure how many enquiries each studio receives

We do not use your data for marketing purposes and do not send unsolicited communications. We do not sell or rent personal data.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process studio enquiry data on the basis of your consent, given by ticking the consent checkbox on the enquiry form, which explains that your message will be forwarded to the studio. We process general commercial enquiries on the basis of legitimate interest — responding to a business enquiry you initiated voluntarily.

5. Data Sharing

We share your studio enquiry data with exactly one third party: the specific dance studio you chose to contact, so that they can respond to you. We do not share it with any other studio or any other third party, other than:

  • Our email hosting provider, which processes messages in transit (subject to their own privacy policy)

Studio contact details (such as a studio's email address) are used internally by our platform to deliver your enquiry and are not published on the public listing pages.

6. Studio Enquiries ("Contact This Studio")

When you submit a studio enquiry, we do not send your message directly to the studio. It is first stored on our platform and reviewed by us before being manually forwarded to the studio. We do not guarantee that a studio will respond, and we do not negotiate, mediate, or make representations on your behalf or the studio's behalf — we only forward your message and, where possible, relay any reply back to you.

7. Data Retention

We retain studio enquiry records to maintain a history of enquiries forwarded to each studio, for as long as reasonably necessary for that purpose. General commercial enquiries are retained for a maximum of 12 months, after which they are permanently deleted. You can request earlier deletion at any time (see section 8).

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data.
  • Restriction: You can request that we restrict processing of your data.
  • Objection: You can object to processing based on legitimate interests or withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, use the contact details in section 12. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Cookies & Analytics

This website uses cookies in the following ways:

  • Essential cookies: We store your cookie consent preference in your browser's localStorage so we do not ask you again on subsequent visits. This does not track you and contains no personal data.
  • Analytics cookies (optional): With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised data about how visitors use this website (pages visited, time on site, general location). This data is used solely to improve the site. IP anonymisation is enabled. No personal data is linked to analytics data.

You can withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage or cookies for this domain. If you decline analytics cookies, no tracking scripts are loaded.

For more information on how Google processes data, see Google's Privacy Policy.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, including server-side validation and input sanitisation on our contact form.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of this website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
