About IRIE! dance theatre
IRIE! dance theatre was founded in 1985 by Beverley Glean with the aim of promoting African and Caribbean dance in Britain. The school is located within the Moonshot Centre in Lewisham, which provides a supportive environment for artistic development.
IRIE! offers a range of classes, including community classes and professional training programs such as the BA (Hons) Diverse Dance Styles degree. The school focuses on various dance styles, particularly those of the African and Caribbean diasporas.
Championing African and Caribbean Dance in Lewisham
The school features two dedicated dance studios designed for independent choreographers and established dance companies. It also offers opportunities for long-term hire agreements and residencies.
