Costume hire is for as long as needed for each individual show, this includes the technical and dress rehearsal as well as the performance. All costumes will be delivered to the student during their DSL dance class or the dress rehearsal.

To ensure all of our costumes are clean, tidy and in great condition before they get to you, we hire all our costumes out for a small fee. This helps maintain the costumes we have and expand the Costume Cupboard to make sure we cater to all our students performance needs.
 
As we order our fabulous costumes from around the world sizing can get complicated... Instead of trying to guess your size we will hold a fitting with all dancers before the big show. So for now, just select the costume you would like to hire and we will make sure it is the perfect fit!

    • It is assumed that customers have read, understood and agreed to the listed conditions of hire. Agreement to the Terms and Conditions is accepted by the customer upon hire.

    • All costumes remain the property of Dance Studio London.

    • The named hirer has the sole responsibility for the costume until the costume is returned to Dance Studio London.

    • No refunds will be issued once a costume has been collected.

    • Customers should check their costume thoroughly and advise the shop of any damage, marks, or items missing before using the costume. Any damage not reported by the customer on the same day of collection will be charged to the hirer.

    • Costumes must be returned on the day specified on the hire agreement, and returned within normal business times. Failure to do so will result in a £5 per day surcharge.

    • Customers must not wash costumes or tumble dry any wet item.

    • Customers must not attach sticky labels or badges to any part of the costume.

    • Customers must not pin, sew, glue or iron any costume that is hired.

    • The cost of replacement will be charged if;

      A costume is returned beyond reasonable repair

      The costume is returned needing specialised cleaning

      The costume is returned with permanent damage

      The costume is returned with one or more items missing

      Any modifications have been carried out on the costume

      The costume is returned stained

      The costume is not returned to Dance Studio London for whatever reason

    • The cost of replacement will be deducted from the customer's credit/debit card (if applicable) if the costume is returned, as per condition 13,14,15,16.

    • Original hangers and costume bags must be returned; failure to do so will result in a £5 charge per missing hanger/ costume bag.

  • Dance Studio London understands the importance of a great costume! The right costume can build a students confidence, create unity before hitting the stage, reinforce the story or theme and even clinch the winning spot at a competition! However, good quality dance costumes are very costly and are sometimes worn once before being retired to the bottom of the draw.

     

    DSL has an online Costume Wardrobe that is continually update, ensuring all DSL dancers put their best foot forward, feeling totally and utterly fabulous every time they hit the stage without breaking the bank!

    Parents are of course welcome to buy their child's costume direct from the supplier if they prefer to. The suppliers details are at the bottom of the costume description on the DSL website however, variations on a costume will not be accepted. For students to perform they must wear the set costume by hiring from DSL Costume Wardrobe or buying the costume from the same supplier detailed by DSL.
